VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO, FLUTE and PIANO LESSONS - Now accepting applications for winter enrollment. Highstrung! members have a few openings for private students. They teach in Northeast and Southeast Portland. David teaches violin and viola, Elizabeth teaches violin; Joshua teaches cello. They typically use the Suzuki method for young children and a blend of Suzuki and a more traditional approach for older students. Elizabeth and David have completed a two year intensive long-term apprenticeship teacher training program with Martha Shackford, a Master Suzuki Teacher Trainer.

We would love to work with your students! Please contact us for more information.

*Highstrung! plays many wedding ceremonies, receptions and private affairs which are, of course, closed to the public. If you wish to observe an event before booking one of our ensembles, please let us know. We will contact the bride and groom or host of the event and ask permission for you to slip into the back of the venue and observe our work. Most of our clients are willing to allow this courtesy - but of course they are not obligated. Please contact us via e-mail for more specifics. We will notify the event coordinator to expect you; asking only that you take care to dress appropriately and come and go discreetly.
